The much-anticipated second season of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel arrives on Prime Video soon, and audience theories has been widespread.
Season 1 introduces a large cast of characters living within the afterlife, sets them at odds with musical numbers detailing their conflicts, and builds tense rivalries and angsty, affectionate connections that fuel fan obsession.
The fandom's stated hopes for the new season differ greatly, but certain threads emerge over and over: Could Angel Dust break free from Valentino? Will we find out more about the binding agreement constraining the enigmatic Alastor? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?
"Obviously, I don't make the show with fan service specifically in mind," the creator stated earlier this year. "However I feel like me being a devotee of the series implies there's a lot of it just naturally. I also want to see these things, and I want some of these things to happen, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"
She says her big-picture plan is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have received approval by the production companies, which finance the series.
That could imply viewers have to be patient for some of the biggest payoffs β but they could be shocked at how fast season 2 progresses, and how many of what they're anticipating unfolds now.
"I feel like people are going to be highly satisfied," she adds. "There are several debut moments. I think we receive some really amazing disclosures, some fascinating origin tales, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. [β¦] We're going to hear additional musical numbers from the previously silent cast members."
The creator is well-informed of the theories and desires about the upcoming season β especially in the form of fan bingo cards.
"I've seen a couple people make a prediction grid about season 2," she mentions. "Naturally I can't post it, but I've actually done some of them, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."
Hazbin Hotel season 2 premieres on Prime Video on October 29.
